Shaun Leane Silver & Black Rhodium Porcupine Quill Earrings
PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE A DELAY DISPATCHING THIS ITEM AS THIS ITEM IS STILL BEING CREATED BY SHAUN AND HIS TEAM - This item will be available towards the end of May
From Reflective Series, these Silver and Black Rhodium Porcupine Quill Earrings capture the powerful silhouette seen in pieces created for Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2003 catwalk show, Irere.
Crafted in sterling silver, the earrings are finished with black rhodium detail to recall the distinctive colouring of porcupine quills. As with the House's iconic Hook earrings, a similar trompe l'oeil effect is employed to create an unbroken curve which perfectly echoes the shape of the face.
About the Porcupine Quill Earrings
The Irere show featured a host of adornments by Shaun Leane created in natural materials: from Macaw feathers to porcupine quills. The natural elegance of these materials prompted Leane to create a series of earcuffs which fanned around the ear and shielded the models' faces. As was continually the case with Leane and McQueen's collaborations, the art of illusion was paramount to the success of the pieces and these earrings appeared to float on the side of the face in perfect symmetry.
Reflective Series is available exclusively during 'Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty' (14th March - 2nd August 2015)
