Couture Jewellery Collection and Conference - Las Vegas May 29th to June 3rd the premiere Wynn complex in Las Vegas played host to the much anticipated Couture Show.  The annual event famed for showcasing the latest exclusive luxury jewellery collections from over 200 designers attracted over 4,000 buyers from globally renowned retailers, keen to secure the latest original creations and innovations in jewellery design.

Atelier Swarovski exhibited at this year’s show, the high-end jewellery line offered by the House of Swarovski featured a collaboration with Victor & Rolf, the Amsterdam based fashion-house which included the Velvet Rock and Frozen Crystal collections. First shown on the catwalk in Paris the Autumn/Winter 2014 bold black and velvet graphic cut-out designs included a black diamond Chandelier Choker, statement pieces in the form of wide cuffs and triple cuffs set with Jet crystals and matching rings continuing to reflect the trademark colours of Victor & Rolf.

Other collaborations have resulted in The Resort Collection, with Atelier Swarovski working with talented designer Irene Neuwirth on a fine jewellery collection with intricate rose designs embellished with colourful crystals and cluster creations in the form of necklaces and brooches.

British designer Emma J Shipley known for her beautiful luxury scarf creations is another designer to partner with Atelier on a collection inspired by the endangered snow leopard, with scarf accessories and jewellery pieces reflecting the animal and its print through the use of geometric ice-like crystals.

UK based Brooke Gregson showcased an amazing collection of one of a kind silk woven bracelets adorned with precious stones.  Featuring stunning diamond slices and Peruvian boulder opals Gregson’s pieces featured a beautiful array of colours with the specially selected stones maximising the natural beauty of the designs.

Harry Kotlar is a name synonymous with the highest quality diamonds and breath-taking designs and cuts including the Artisan pave and the Kotlar cushion. At this year’s show couture designs included a selection of diamond rings one of which was a 5.46 carat diamond set in platinum, with 2 smaller stones and a band featuring an artisan pave scallop design maximising the brilliance of the diamond creations.  Striking coloured diamonds were also a show-stopping element with yellow gold stones a key feature in the designs.

Designer Lauren Harper showcased intricate jewellery designs mixing metals which include gold and black silver to bring another dimension to handmade pieces which included necklaces, earrings and rings.  Having won last year’s Couture Design for Coloured Gem Stones, Lauren’s bridal collection along with her latest art deco influenced pieces are simply divine.

Rhonda Faber Green brought us an array of delicate filigree designs inspired by nature with flowers and dragonflies depicted in diamonds forming part of the Filigreen and Diamondot collections of rings and necklaces on show. With hearts and fleur de lis also making an appearance, Rhonda focusses on making jewellery that will make the wearer feel beautiful and these exquisite pieces are sure to have the desired effect.

Utopia’s Gallery Collection featured unique designs of Tanzanite, with diamonds and Tahitian pearls set in white gold completing the exclusive high-end creations.  Utopia’s expertise in the use of South Sea pearls in a spectrum of colours brings a new dimension to pearl strand designs, and with their Italian flair a collection of modern and striking creations are the impressive result.

Massimo Izzo’s Jewels of the Sea Collection is inspired by Mediterranean culture to include starfish, crabs, octopus and coral elements.  The Moray necklace is a statement piece of Oxblood Coral with a drop beryl of 165cts, and a white and rose gold setting of diamonds forming a Moray eel. Jade Lavender set together with peridot in white gold formed another of Massimo’s delicate creations, with earrings, 2 contrasting rings and a beautiful bracelet completing the elegant set.

A show highlight had to be the amazing creations by Roberto Coin whose Animalier Collection included sculpted Siberian Tiger and Lion rings with jewels used to create these incredibly detailed designs reflecting the power and beauty of the animals themselves.  Dragons, elephants and eagles also featured with the clever use of materials allowing the complex designs to evoke the wild and majestic nature of the magnificent creatures.
