Happy 25th Anniversary International Jewellery Tokyo!

The eagerly awaited IJT exhibition took place in Tokyo at the Big Sight venue in Japan from the 22nd to the 25th January, with Japan’s largest jewellery show celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. With IJT attracting just under 30,000 visitors, over 1000 exhibitors participated in the event, a renowned platform for the finest quality jewellery, as well as diamonds, pearls and gemstones.

With numerous international pavilions at the event, this year the USAwas chosen as the theme country, and designers featuring in the US Pavilion included first time exhibitor Danhov, showcasing their Abbraccio Collection at the event.  Danhov featured their innovative swirl ring design, with the band and setting seamlessly created and reflecting love that is never ending.

This year saw further growth in the number of diamond exhibitors with suppliers fromBelgium,IsraelandIndiaadding to the incredible array of stunning diamonds and diamond jewellery on show at IJT’s Diamond World, a main focus for the event.

With pearls of the highest quality another key feature at IJT, as well as South Sea and Akyoa pearls, amazing creations were also on display of Galatea Jewellery featuring Galatea pearls, which are hand crafted using a gemstone centre bead, with the luminescent surface of the pearl carved to display the gemstone.  The result are truly beautiful creations which bring a new dimension to pearls through this innovative design.

Gubelin Gem Lab were responsible for hosting a free seminar at the event, which presented the Classification and Application of Trade Colour Calls, which provided insight into the processes and standards involved in gemstone trade colour classification.

With the IJT attracting visitors from across Europe, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Chinaand America, the reception party held on the 23rd provided another ideal opportunity to network.   The exclusive annual Japan Best Jewellery Wearer Awards also took place, with some of the hottest celebrities fromJapan andAsia including Jun Matsumoto (Artist and Actor) and Michiko Kichise (actress) featuring in this year’s list of lucky winners.

Next year’s IJT event will take place from the 21st-24th January 2015.
