Malaysia International Jewellery Fair – Simply Stunning

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre opened its doors on the 18th July for the much anticipated and prestigious Malaysia International Jewellery Fair, welcoming over 200 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors to the 4 day event, showcasing the finest gold and silver jewellery and precious stone designs within its latest stunning collections.

Show highlights included the Malaysia Premier Pavilion, with a focus on the gold craftsmanship and creations produced from the country’s leading talents, as well as the Golden Centennial Galleria celebrating the many changes and developments within the gold industry in the last 100 years, from beautiful examples of exquisite antique jewellery to the methods and tools used to create these fine and intricate designs.

Informative seminars provided the ideal opportunity for buyers to learn more about the hottest industry developments, together with a focus on the Ruby: The King of the Gems and the Natural South Sea Pearls of Australia.

As for the high-end jewellery itself, the beautiful green tones of emeralds, jadeite and tsavorite garnet featured hugely popular at this year’s event, the Edelweiss Jewellery Company brought us stunning designs with drop emeralds set within diamond edelweiss flowers, combining classic and modern in its necklace and earrings designs that simply dazzled. Prinsimas displayed the versatility of jadeite with a white gold and sapphire brooch in an eye catching design and Francis Chiu Co contrasted brilliant cut rubies with emerald green jadeite for a diamond ring creation with a twist.

Atelier Fine Jewellery used a striking lavender jadeite together with a warm mix of rose gold and rubies for a design perfect for Summer wear, and Taka Jewellery depicted beautiful and modern flowers through the use of precious stones including its ruby pink sapphire design.  6th Element Jewellery made clever use of a diamond band setting with a striking monochrome design reflecting ongoing trends in both jewellery and fashion, and wondrous creations combining nature inspired designs with south sea pearls were on offer from CHJ.  Jaipore Jewels showcased a collection of ruby and diamond encrusted necklace and bracelet delights, ideal for those seeking a statement piece.

One of the finest examples of diamond depth of colour and sparkle was Supreme Gems Natural Yellow Diamond Necklace, certified by the GIA which simply dazzled.  Handcrafted pieces were also on display from Hilary Schwartz with peridot and aquamarine creations set in gold vermeil on silver for a highly individual look.

With exclusive invitations for private jewellery viewings arranged by Maisya, whose many creations included a collection of breath-taking fancy diamond bangles, the opening ceremony and fashion show was also a VIP highlight, offering an exciting glimpse into the treasures on offer at the renowned Malaysian event.

The next Malaysia International Fair will take place from the 7-10 November, again in Kuala Lumpur, providing another chance to explore the finest jewellery designs from Asia and around the globe.
