HOW TO GET TO THE CONVENTION

Let's start with the basics; before the excitement unravels before your very eyes, you need to be able to find the venue! Now luckily for you, Northampton is easily accessible from all locations in the UK due to its central position, so wherever you are coming from, getting to the town is simple enough. However, all of the advice you need is available on the next couple of pages.

Train Services

There are trains into Northampton from all over the country, and there are direct lines from both Birmingham and London that will be leaving frequently on Sunday 27th October. We recommend  http://www.thetrainline.com or the http://www.nationalrail.co.uk as viable sources to book any tickets for your journey. If you do get a train into Northampton, there is a slight walk to the Deco, which should take approximately 20 minutes through the town centre. Please check below for detailed directions to the Deco from the train station.

By Foot

- From the exit at the train station follow up the small hill straight in front of you which takes you on to black Lion Hill.

- When on Black Lion Hill turn left and follow the road, where you will come across a bus stop that has regular buses to the Greyfriars Bus Station (for bus information scroll down).

- If you opt to walk instead of taking the bus, walk straight on in the direction of St Andrews Road (on the left), but continue straight on and follow Black Lion Hill.

- Black Lion Hill eventually turns into Marefair, but carry on along regardless until you reach a set of traffic lights, with Vue Cinema on your left.

- Cross over at the traffic lights and carry on along the same road as before, which is now Gold Street.

- Carry on along Gold Street until you reach the end where you will find a church (The Parish Church of All Saints).

- Turn left here and then the immediate right which leads you alongside the church.

- There will be a market on your left. Walk past the market and then straight up the long road of shops in front of you (Abington Street).

- Follow this to the top (Please be aware that it may take 10/15 minutes to walk up Abington Street), here you will find a set of traffic lights, and see Steffans the Jewellers (That's us!!!) in front of you.

-  Proceed to cross the road so that you are on the same side as the Jesus Centre and opposite Steffans, and then walk along until you see red gates with a 'D' on them; this is your destination!

- Embark on you're next Trollbeads adventure!

By Bus

If you do not feel like walking from the train station then there is always the option of getting a bus, which arrives every half an hour (43 minutes past and 13 minutes past) from Black Lion Hill, and there is either the number 29 or 30.

- From the exit at the train station follow up the small hill straight in front of you which takes you on to Black Lion Hill

- When on Black Lion Hill turn left and follow the road, where you will come across a bus stop that has regular buses to the Greyfriars Bus Station.

- Once either the 29 or 30 has arrived at the bus station there is a short walk to the Deco.

- From the bus station, follow the signs for the Grosvenor Centre.

- You will come out by the Disney store inside the shopping centre.

- Take a left at the Disney store and walk through the centre until you reach the escalators behind Costa Coffee.

-  At the bottom of the escalator turn left and there will be an exit to your right.

- At the exit turn left and walk up Abington Street for approximately five minutes until you reach traffic lights with Steffans the Jewellers (That's us!!!) in front of you.

-  Proceed to cross the road so that you are on the same side as the Jesus Centre and opposite Steffans, and then walk along until you see red gates with a 'D' on them; this is your destination!

- Embark on your next Trollbeads adventure!

By Car

If you decide that driving to Northampton is easier for you, then please follow these directions, or simply put the address for St Michael's Multi Storey Car Park (Which is located next to the Deco, and is free on a Sunday!) into your Sat Nav, which is:

St Michael's Rd, Northampton, NN1 3HR

Please be aware that the Car park is situated on the right hand side of St Michael's Road, so keep your eyes peeled!!!

- Exit Junction 15 North or South into Northampton (A 508)

- The A508 becomes the A45 (the Nene Valley Highway). Stay on the A45 and exit onto the Bedford Road (A428) (signposted Abington and 1st exit off roundabout) into Northampton.

- Stay on the A428 - go through one set of traffic lights and at the next set of major traffic lights, turn right into Cheyne Walk.

- Go through the next set of traffic lights into York Road

-  At the end of York Road you are now facing the Jesus Army building (opposite the junction on the right hand side, with a red cross on).

- Go up the hill (Lower Mounts) and stay in the right hand lane, and at the next set of traffic lights, make a sharp right into St Michael's Road where the NCP car park is situated.

- Once parked, come out from the car park by the 'Abington Square' exit, turn right, pass the Bantam pub and immediately after the pub on the right is the entrance to the Deco with a wrought iron gate and a canopy.

Places to eat!

A day jam-packed with excitement is bound to work up a hunger, and if you don't know Northampton you could well be struggling to find somewhere to rest your weary feet, grab some food and admire your newest purchases! Never fear, as that is exactly why we are here! There are many places to eat in the area of The Deco, however one place that we can highly recommend to eat at on a Sunday is La Dolce Vita. A stones throw away from the The Deco, and with the freshest Italian cuisine this side of the river Nene, La Dolce Vita will be the most vibrant and bustling place to be! Have a look at the website to check the menu before hand at: http://www.la-dolce-vita-northampton.co.uk/

There are plenty of pubs surrounding the area of The Deco if that is more to your taste, and there are numerous small cafés that are perfect for a smaller bite to eat along Abington Street. For directions to any other local restaurants, or to continue shopping, don't hesitate in asking us!
